Game 98: RHP – Hiroki Kuroda vs. RHP – Kevin Millwood
Kuroda has been a much needed bright spot for the Yankees pitching rotation after losing so many of their starters. Although the glimmer shines brighter at home than on the road, hopefully the Mariners hitters can take advantage of his road 4.66 ERA.

Millwood pitched like an old man in his last start, but he is an old man.

Game 99: RHP – Freddy Garcia vs. RHP – Felix Hernandez
I always hate seeing a former Mariner in Yankees uniform, especially one that was a part of the miracle 2001 team. Although Garcia is far from the 18 game winner he was that season, so I suppose that makes it ok.
An old Garcia is better than a young Pineda…oh wait. Truth is that if Pineda was healthy Garcia would not likely have a job this season. His numbers are that bad.

Fans have short term memories. Not 2 months ago half the Seattle populace was ready to give up on Felix as a washed up has been. Now people are talking about Felix as a possible Cy Young candidate.
Felix has pitched amazing, the past month. In fact in July Felix’s ERA has been just 1.80

Game 100: RHP – Ivan Nova vs. RHP – Hisashi Iwakuma
Nova, has struggled a lot the past season, but has still managed to gather a double digit win total which can only be attributed to the fact that the Yankees have a golden thumb stuck up their whatchamacalits.
This is the exact opposite problem the Mariners have, who have a combined .161 batting average against Nova.
- Current Line: 10-4 / 4.10 ERA / 36 BB / 109 SO / 1.41 WHIP
Iwakuma looked a lot more competent on the hill for the M’s in his last outing, it is starting to look like the million dollar investment for this crap season could be worth it, if nothing more than interests sake.
I can’t see the M’s resigning the Japanese hurler.

Game 1:
I have no hope for this game. Predictions: Loss (Yankees 6 – Mariners 2)
Game 2:
I sure hope that the Mariners don’t wast another quality start of Felix. Predictions: Win (Yankees 3 – Mariners 4)
Game 3:
Can the Marinrs win two games in a row at home? Predictions: Loss (Yankees 3 – Mariners 1)
Notes:
Yankees RF Nick Swisher (hip) has missed the last two games and is questionable for the Seattle series.
Before the weekend New York had never been swept in a four-game series by one run in each game.
Former Yankee Jesus Montero has recorded multiple hits in six of the last seven games and RBIs in four of the last five for Seattle.
